Acceptable Use Policy

This AUP applies to every service on overnight.host and exists to protect our customers, our network and the internet. Violations can lead to immediate suspension or termination without refund (see Terms §5, §7).

1. Strictly prohibited

Child sexual abuse material — zero tolerance. Immediate termination and report to the competent authorities.
Any content or activity that is illegal under German, EU or applicable US law (our compute nodes are located in the USA).
Malware, botnets, command-and-control infrastructure, stealers, ransomware operations.
Phishing, identity theft, fraud, fake shops, investment scams.
Sending unsolicited bulk mail (spam) of any kind, operating open mail relays or open proxies.
Network attacks: (D)DoS, port scanning of third parties, brute forcing, IP spoofing, amplification abuse.
Distribution of copyright-infringing content, including operating torrent sites/trackers or seedboxes for infringing material. We honour DMCA notices for US-hosted content ([email protected]) and German/EU takedown law.
Game-cheat, exploit or account-trafficking services.
Cryptocurrency mining and similar sustained full-load compute abuse on shared plans.

2. Resource fairness

Shared CPU plans may burst, but sustained ~100% multi-hour CPU, IO saturation or RAM abuse that degrades neighbours may be throttled. If throttling does not resolve it, we will contact you; persistent abuse may be suspended. Dedicated-resource game plans are exempt up to their allocation.

3. Mail

Outbound mail from your services must be solicited, low-volume and authenticated (SPF/DKIM recommended). Mass mailing requires prior written approval.

4. Reselling

Reselling our services is permitted, but you remain fully responsible for your end-users' compliance with this AUP.

5. Enforcement & reporting

Depending on severity we warn, throttle, suspend or terminate — severe violations (1. above) lead to immediate termination. We may preserve and disclose data where legally required. Report abuse to [email protected]; we aim to act on verified reports within 24 hours.
